I bought a $100 box of nickels yesterday and while looking through them I found this weird error on this 2015 P nickel, I'm really not sure what to call it, at first I thought it was a die clash but nothing on the obverse looks like whats inside the doorway.

This circle is coming out of the coin so it rules out PMD.

@jw007, if you use the keywords NICKEL and CIRCLE in the search box in the upper left hand part of your screen, you will find several threads talking about this. Here is a link to one example:

So I finished reading through some posts after doing a search and checking out both links John1 and Spence provided (thank you for those by the way) and I'm just curious if this is worth keeping or not if it is only lathe lines, I did however read from a few other places that its doubtful to be lathe lines but it is only being called that because no one else knows what legitimately caused them. Regardless I think it is pretty cool but I don't know if it belongs in my collection if it is just a common occurrence.

I would think it is a lathe line that was not polished out. A keeper for now. You may want to get a better Picture to send to John Wexler. He might appreciate it for his UFO files.
