I am hoping for some information on a penny found in a can of old hardware bought at an auction. The penny is slightly smaller than typical size and has no rim. Print above Lincoln's head is cut off.

The outside edge was altered. They may have tried to use it as a dime. But probably didn't work because it is too thick.
