1999-P Nickel W/ Some Sort Of Doubling

Found this yesterday while going through my pocket change. I know it's not the neatest aspect of the coin but the little bit of research I did said that "Full Steps" are rare & yet this coin has crisp Full Steps. That stood out to me for some reason.

The definition of it is but how can I be Die Deterioration when it shows pristine detail doesn't look like there's any deterioration to me other than Maybe the lettering

The '90s were a dismal decade for DDs. I think all years & all mints combined, had like 3.

You are missing the point. It is not the coin that is the issue, but the die that struck that coin and Machine Doubling after the strike. The die is showing extreme die wear. What was straight at one time is not creating a distorted view of the devices. It is a die wear issue. Seen often on nickels/:

A doubled die show an enlargement of the deivces. Here are a few nickel doubled dies:

Note on your coin the areas you are looking at are [y]flat, shelf like and a reduction of the devices[/u]. Note on these examples the devices are enlarged in size, not reduced like Machine Doubling does.
