Okay, so picked up this coin today for 4 bucks locally, all the devices were surrounded by 100 year old grime, so soaked it for a couple minutes in acetone and most of it came off, so I examined it closer.

This is when I noticed, the coin is slightly dished...the Obverse is deeper than the reverse, but no damage signifying that it has been slammed in the face or the reverse. What could cause that during the die process? Just something I havent seen other than on capped dies, possibly broadstrike?

I put it back in the acetone for a bit, gonna try and get the gunk out of the devices...this coin is in quite good shape. better than expected.

It does look to be in decent condition, but I'm wondering if it has any luster left. The reverse pics don't bode well.

Uncirculated sharpness, but tell us more about the true color and luster.

Also, it is still red in all the areas the acetone removed gunk from around the devices.

AU-58. MS quality except for all the rim marks that most likely came from light circulation.
