@rl87--nice one and I'm glad that you posted it.

Since this second hit is so far off-struck that there are no design elements present, I wonder how we can tell that this wasn't struck after leaving the mint? I'm definitely not saying that about this particular coin, but rather in general. Maybe @coop or others could weigh in to help me to learn how to distinguish between a legit and manufactured second strike? Thx in advance.

On this coin it looks like the L of LIBERTY is in the 2nd strike.

In general, I believe the rim should be visible since the rim gutter is the outer most part of the die.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
