Good evening. I have this coin posted on Grading Topic, but my question is, how does a colorful toned coin like this compare to original mint luster? I'm assuming mint luster takes precedence over any toning. But does it? In regards to grading and demand. And is it considered a "Variety"? Here's a few images....

It all depends. Some people like blast white or fire red coins. Others like toning. Some toners have little luster, while others are luster bombs.

Depends on the collector

Toners have a wide market nowadays. Toning is a factor in grading, black blotchy toning, or toning that erases naturally existing luster is considered damage while attractive or colorful toning can help push a coin that is, for example, nicer then all 64's but not nice enough for a 64+ or a 65, nice toning can help push it to a 64+.

Just because of the toning? Then in that case no.

Your coin does have nice color, but in my opinion it wouldn't likely sway any value.

Really nice toning. I personally enjoy great toning hence my avatar which is an edit of a coin I found. I have a 1999 D cent listed in the grading forum about halfway down if you want to check out some vibrant rainbow tones.
