Hey all, I have no knowledge whatsoever of this stuff. I inherited this coin with others. I assume its a Morgan dollar. Is it and error coin or just worn? Is it worth anything? the opposite side is completely black. I hope someone can help
thanks

The outline is of a Morgan $1 and from what I can see it is dateless. I doubt that it circulated to that degree of wear, it was probably a pocket piece carried in someone's pocket for maybe two or three decades. The only value it would have would be silver and a Morgan should weigh 26.73 grams of 90% silver for an actual silver weight of 0.7734 oz.
Obviously, your coin would weigh a bit less than that from the extreme wear so the value would have to be adjusted accordingly with the actual weight.

I have to agree that the amount of wear on that coin is just not normal. As noted probably a pocket peice.
Rest in Peace

Hate to be a "Yes Man," however I agree with all statements posted.

Welcome to the forum.

Probably a pocket piece.
