Roll searching, I've found a 1936 Buffalo nickel, a 1974 D Dbl die obv. Kennedy half, and lots of old Jeffersons. However, in the cash register where I work I found a 1923 Buffalo, a 1943 D Mercury dime, a 1945 S silver wartime nickel, several old Jeffersons, several wheat cents, and one night a man paid using exact change and in it was a 1909 VDB Wheat cent in ef condition. I couldn't believe it. I saw the reverse first, and then I checked the date. I immediately turned it over, and sure enough, there was a little VDB in the bottom, just like in the pictures. I never would have thought that a coin that old in that shape could be found in spare change!
There is still old stuff out there, and I think now, more than ever, people are spending many of their old coins, and cashing in those old jars of coins that have been laying around.
