Depends if it is raised on the field, or if it is just a stain? Contact with the punch makes a dent into the die. Thus even the light punching will cause a mark into the die, showing as a raised area on a coin.
Case in point 1955-S RPM-001
1972-D-LMC-RPM-...-Maybe?
Note how thin these RPMs are. First one, too close. Second one too close and third location is more in the target area.

Maybe slight circulation wear plus Pareidolia? I don't see this among the eight RPMs for '72-D listed on varietyvista:
