Ran across this quarter that appears to be copper ,I guess meaning it somehow missed the cladding process ,it weighs 5.64 grams so I dont think it's under weight ,decided to see what everyone thinks thanks for looking

Well missing clad means that the coin necessarily is underweight. Since your is normal weight, it must be surface staining, such as from environmental exposure.

Could you post full images of both sides of the coin without cutting off any edges? And an image of the reeded edge?

While it's possible that your coin was rolled out of copper without clad layers, it's a very slim chance. If you could take the coin to a gold and silver buyer with an XFR analyzer, they should be able to tell if it's pure copper.

It's most likely just environmental damage to the clad. A pure copper quarter would have stood out and been removed from circulation years before it fell into this condition.

as well. If the weight is normal, it's not missing the clad layers.

In response to the 69D LMC I realize that certain parts have been flattened that's obvious,,, what I was looking at are the Mark's inside the 9 the two flat spots on the top right and the one flat spot on the bottem left side of the 9 at about 8oclock these three spots look almost identical to the image on variety vista there are more than one DD 1969 LMC is that not right and another thing I'm sure all error coins are not found in the same stage of mint they have all gone thru circulation there for how could they all look identical and what about die does that play a role in the appearance the coin might have if these three spots I mentioned are there and the same wouldnt that be some indicator that the two coins could have been made with the same die even if either an earlier state of die conditioner or even a later state of die condition just trying to figure it out I cant see all the DD's of the same year and mint could look alike after so many years of circulation again thanks for looking everyone
