as far as exchanging them, do you have a Citibank near you? I know they exchange paper money. Also try Bank of America, I saw a lady exchanging Canadian currency for U.S. currency at my local branch but Canadian may be all they do.

Unfortunately, all of these notes are obsolete; the amount of effort you'd have to go through to exchange them for face value in US$ wouldn't be worth the amount you'd get. They're basically collectors items only now.
The Italian lira was replaced by the euro in 2002. The theoretical exchange rate at the moment is 1000 lire = US70¢.
As for Poland, they had a currency reform following a bout of hyperinflation following the collapse of communism; your notes are "old zloty", which was replaced by the "new zloty" in 1995 at a rate of 10,000 to 1. One new zloty is worth US40¢; 2000 old zlotych would be US8¢. The new zloty will eventually be replaced by the euro, too.
As collectable notes, their value will depend on their condition. If they're well circulated, they wouldn't be worth much more than their nominal face value.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

The 100 zl 1988.. if it's not UNC is basically worth nothing (here, at least). The 2000 zl is better, since in the 1990s it wasn't common to get it in change. Of course, you could find it but getting one was by no means a daily occurence. 1982 was the last series of the 2000 zl. They were in circulation till the end of 1996 (someone correct me if that's not accurate). Quote: 2000 old zlotych would be US8¢ That's a typo, I believe, should read US80¢

Side note - the last pre-euro series of lire notes can still be redeemed. If your notes were more recent, you would get €5.68 for them ... in Italy. Unfortunately yours are too old for that, so they are "only" collectors items. Ah well, your disappointment could have been even bigger: Imagine you had found a 100 billion dollar note from Zimbabwe. Christian

It hurts you not to keep obsolete money. Or, send it to me. Whichever.
