David Hall: The 1927-S is semi-common in lower circulated grades, but quite scarce in grades VF20 and above.
NGC: Like the Denver Mint 1927 nickel, the best that can be said of the 1927 S issue is that it comes better than the two preceding dates. Most are less than fully struck, but very poorly struck coins are not often encountered.
