Sorry for not posting the full images, but I need to know if this is a DDR on a really nice 1961 Franklin half still in the OGP.

I don't have access to my books and I already have several 1961 proof sets, but I really think it's a DDR, even if it is just a minor one. I can pick it up with no premium.

THANKS to Willburton for posting the pictures. Did you have those or find them online? If you found them online, please let me know where.

I bought the set. I'll post pictures of the coin as soon as I can. All of the coins are in great condition and it's my birth year set, so it's kind of a favorite. I'm not sure if it's the DDR, but I see what looks like notching and doubled uprights on the letters matching the 802.

I'm always searching for any error/variety from '61.

Yea if I had to guess I would say the 802 as well. Nice buy!

The CoinFacts app is where I got the pics. It is great but doesn't give you any information about doubling or markers!

FS-802:
1961-Franklin-Proof-DDR?-FS-802-Or-FS-803?
1961-Franklin-Proof-DDR?-FS-802-Or-FS-803?
1961-Franklin-Proof-DDR?-FS-802-Or-FS-803?
1961-Franklin-Proof-DDR?-FS-802-Or-FS-803?

Looked in the CPG book and the two you listed are backwards. 802 is 803.
803 is 802.

Thanks, as always, for the great images coop! I'll be shooting the coin out of the cello as soon as I can get all my ducks in a row. (Or is it turkeys with the holiday and all?) I'm using a new Nikon that seems to be really good for coins.

Wexler has some good pictures. I couldn't tell based on the pictures above, but in case these are helpful, here is the link. 802 and 803 are the last two entries. http://doubleddie.com/1159340.html
