When posting images please post the devices horizontal. Our eyes will see things better that way. Also post the year/mint so we know what could be determined. (Some years the devices are different in size than others) Also if you are posting two different years, you should post them on a separate thread.

For example; cents from 1968-1972 have the most examples of Machine Doubling. Even doubled dies can have Machine Doubling. If a mark is incuse like on the '7' on your last image, 99% of the time, an incuse mark is damage to the coin. Just 1% of the time are they a mint error.

On the first image you should post the whole word on the devices.

Know the date and seeing it horizontal is a great aid to explain. Events happen to dies, striking processes and circulation alteration. This way we can give a proper answer without having to guess.

My sincerest apologies. I'm not very tech savvy. They are two different coins. The first one is a 1985 d penny.I could not find any info for that year so am very confused. I will try to take better pictures and resend

1st pic,not a DDR. Maybe DDD? 2nd pic,what are you seeing as a possible error?
