I found one of those in a bag of $500 in halves once. I was told that my piece was probably used in slot machines, and that over time, the edges wear completely off.

What you have here is a Slot machine coin which has lost all the reeding by going in/out of the machine. Safe to let it go.
You will notice numerous surface scratches throughout on both sides.

Looks like the weight is in the normal range. So probably a slight blockage of grease on the gutter outer edge of the die that prevented the rim from forming on those two areas. No premium, but always nice to know what could happen to a coin. If the coin were under weight, the coin may have been thin and the rim was prevented from setting up on the rim. Or of the area had scratches on it, then it might be damage removing some weight from the coin. But looks more like a grease issue on your coin.

I have 2 1995's with smooth edges like this. I'm doubting that they r both smooth from slot machines
