So I have what looks like a Lincoln liberty shield penny but it's silver and has quite a bit of damage but on the front it kind of looks like over print where the date is and liberty is kind of paint I'm not rty but it's there?

@wj8, first welcome to CCF. Second, rather than paint,it looks to me like the rim of this cent has been folded over. This can happen with mechanical damage such as being left in a commercial clothes dryer. The silver color is most likely the underlying zinc core exposed from the copper plating being removed due to rubbing. In any case, it isn't a mint error.
