I have a Whitman album for dimes and I just added several blank pages. My Question is should I include the clad proofs in the blank pages? Will the proof finish deteriorate in the album? Or should I keep them in 2x2s? Does anyone have experience to share?

@l90, that looks like a pretty sweet dime collection that you are putting together. My personal preference would be to keep the proofs in their 2x2s so as to avoid the potential for scratches and fingerprints that could come from putting them into the Whitman folder.

Also, just a quick reminder to flatten those staples to avoid damaging adjacent coins when they are stacked together.

Thanks, that sounds like great advice. I have some plastic pages for the 2x2 proofs. I did some roll hunting before Christmas and saved plenty of the circulated dimes to fill the holes.

I use the Whitman Classic Albums too. I also put all the Proofs in there since I want the set to be complete. However, the Mint is getting irritating with all the varieties of each year now. I only put the Clad Proofs in the Albums. I presently have four such Albums. No Silver Proofs and no W Mint coins either. Getting stupid with all the varieties. Soon they will have a proof dime for every State with a new Mint in each one. Makes me wonder when the Mint will start making Silver Pennies next.
Rest in Peace

I don't keep any of my proofs in albums .They are kept in 2x2's . Too many things can happen to them like minute scratches and friction with sliding plastic sleeves , oily fingers and the good old case of Album Toning .

I filled the two blank pages with P and D dimes.
I left the proofs in 2x2 holders.

Then I got a few more dimes. They looked so good in their original pages - I left them there.
