to CCF. Looking forward to photos.As a general rule,a coin needs a minimum retail value after slabbing of $150 to justify all costs in sending it in.

I can see the reeding on the edge and it appears that the lettering is not backwards. You may just have the real deal on your hands.

I have had this in my collection (in a box) for years, just recently retired and decided to get back into collecting and checking what I had. always been skeptical and have never sent a coin off to be graded.

I am not sure on the weight. I may have to pick up a scale for this hobby.

Picked up a digital scale. the weight is 2.27g

Looks like a penny struck on a dime, not a planchet. I'd take a shot at slabbing it. Or. If you just want to sell it, send it to GreatCollections raw. It'll cost you less and they'll get it slabbed for you.
