Been watching some posts today about RDV's, went to site listed in posts and read about them and still confused.

Is it about the designers initial size?
If so, I think I might have one. My initials look like the ones on VarityVista.
There really big.

I can't seem to figure out how to copy and past links and pics here, on my IPad. I'd really like to know how you guys do the quotes too,

Yes, you do have RDV-003 here. However, that is the normal design for this date at all mints. The pictures on Variety Vista are meant to help determine which design is which, as they illustrate defining characteristics of each design variety. These are not necessarily the *only* changes visible from design to design, but they should be useful in discerning among the different types.

To use the quote box, you can type quote in square brackets [], followed by your text, then type /quote in square brackets. There is also a button that does this in full reply mode that looks like a piece of paper with a red arrow on it.

Thank you for that info on the coin, and on how to do quotes on this site!
Does this RDV have added value, or is it just a classification to add when organizing my collection?

It's just a classification. I would not bother writing that down on your 2x2s however, unless it were an anomaly. For example, the " Wide AM" varieties of 1998-2000 have RDV-006 on coins that were meant to have RDV-007.

All 1973 cents have RDV-003. Only the transitional varieties (Reverse designs accidentally used a year too late or a year too early) or the ones used for the wrong type of coin (business reverse on a proof coin or vice versus) are collectible varieties.

These transitional and accidental reverses are highlighted on that site in red, blue, or pink.
