New to coin collecting. Is this a 1988 Lincoln double ear? My coin is on the left.

Normal coin. Note the outline of the extra ear below the earlobe?

Note how the ear area is enlarged under the normal ear?

I always try to show what I see on a coin. An image always helps and takes a lot less words. Save images for your educational files. That way you don't have to look again later and have a hard time finding them. When no longer needed, then delete them.
