Hello, I just have a question about the NGC slabs. Is there a way to tell if they have been opend and then re-sealed? I have looked at multiple NGC slabs and they all look alike around the edges with some ugly spots in the plastic here and there.. The reason for me asking is that I have recently bought a Multi coin slab of 2008-S Proof Presidential dollars of high grade and the coins are out of order from left to right. They should be in order from Monroe, Adams, Jackson and then Van Buren, and there not. I didnt know if this is an " error ", Normal, or tamperd with.

I'll be the first one to do it... and I'd hate to make a call one way or the other on the info you've provided. If you could get some good pics up I'd feel much more comfortable about giving an opinion.

I would love to get pics up to you. Unfortunately I do not have a scanner at my house and my camera is not good enough to get a clear picture for you, too much glare. and yes I am new to this website as well as coin collecting.

they are sealed on the sides so if it was un slabed you'll see it because its hard to hide it

Are the coins actually mislabeled or are they just out of Presidential order?

Most likely it is just a holdering error at NGC and they put them in the wrong holes. If you contacted NGC they would probably reholder them at no charge, but you would have to pay for shipping and insurance both ways.

Real NGC slabs do indeed have some "ugly" spots around the edges... This is just part of the sealing process.
I'll try to get some pics of this so you can see it better.

I agree with Sir Ferrari. I have quite a few NGC slabbed Eagles and most of them have an ugly spot on the seam. Must be a by-product of the plastic welding process that leaves this mark.
