I say it could have been gold plated or toned that particular color naturally or artificially. But can not explain why the edge isn't your typical clad sandwich any chance you can give us the weight to the hundredth of a gram?

High points on obverse seem to have been worn off..might have been lightly dusted with spray paint, try rubbing some acetone or nail polish remover on it,(yes guys, nail polish remover, coin has no added value above face)

to CCF....keep looking...good luck on future finds

In your second photo, we can clearly see the clad and copper layers (towards the bottom half of the coin) Rub it or not its your coin..IMO it's worth face value only, so just wait and see what others say

Obviously there is a sandwich on the rim. The color doesn't matter, as long as we see the sandwich.

As coop has explained it, the blank/planchet was stamped out and then struck on the reverse/tails side.
