Today I want to show you all, one of the most beautiful (in my opinion of course) Polish coin ever. Unfortunately I have in my collection only official copy minted in oh this Thaler but it's still wonderful and magnificent coin. The project of coin created mintmaster Friedrich Wilhelm Sylm.

On the averse we can see peruked and cuirassed bust of king Stanislaw August Poniatowski right, wearing the Order of the White Eagle.

On the reverse we can see crowned oval shield with the quartered Polish and Lithuanian Arms, small Ciołek Arms at the center, flanked by palm and oak branches intertwined with the ribbon of the Order of the White Eagle.

And here's the original:

I know, the original Thaler is much more beautiful even than the official copy minted by Mennica Polska but actually the original one is out of my wallet But maybe one day...

I agree - the Polish talers from the 1600s and 1700s are wonderful in design but a bit steep in price. The original could be be yours here....

I made a few minor purchases from him over the years and he is nice to work with.

Very nice looking coin. maybe you could find a VF or EF for much less. There would still be a lot of great detail in those lower grades.
