I usually purchase a roll of new ASE's every January. I've gone on a couple of the common bullion selling sites looking to pre-order a roll. They all seem to be adding in sales tax? I have never had to pay it before, and thought bullion purchases were exempt from sales tax? Any thoughts about this, or where to purchase without paying tax?
thanks,
Jim

No, but I live in a state that has no sales tax. Therefore any online purchases, including coins and bullion, are tax free.

Different states have different laws regarding sales tax on coins and bullion.

For example, in my state, coins, currency, and bullion are tax exempt, but coin supplies (2X2s, books, albums, etc.) are still taxed.

This is what happens when I shop in Idaho. I never get charged sales tax for coins or bullion but do get charged it for everything else.

States have been introducing new tax regulations that online companies are forced to be compliant with.

Thanks all for the info. I looked into Monument Metals, and ordered a roll of 2020 ASE's. Transaction went smoothly, and was delivered in two days! best of all no S&H, and NO TAX! Thanks to machine20 for telling me about them.

I live in Michigan, and there is no sales tax on coins, but ebay keeps charging me sales tax when I purchase coins. What's going on?
