I was in a corner store today where a friend of mine works. She knows I collect coins and told me a customer had used some old coins today. I bought them at face from her. I know I did ok but am curious if y'all see anything special. Please excuse the photos. I did them with my phone.

The 90% silver Dimes and Quarters are just worth melt ( common junk silver ). The Buffalo nickels are common dates and pretty worn , not much value . Still nice pick up .

Thanks T-Bop! Definitely got my $0.95 worth though. They'll go in with my bullion.

Well as you know, paying face value for silver is a pretty good deal. With regard to the red fingernail polish on the '40-S quarter, I would soak that in acetone to remove the paint. You may very well end up with uneven toning, but I's still take that trade-off.

I knew the manager at a bar who used to do this to a few quarters which he would "spend" each night in the juke box to get customers in the mood for listening to music. When he tallied up the take at the end of the week, he could easily separate out those for seeding the next week.

We had purple nail polish on "house" money that we would seed the juke box, pool tables and pin ball machines at my parents pub in the mid 70's.
