I know it's pretty banged up, but as this could potentially be my very first error coin, I would like to keep it if it's legitimate. The "I" in the motto is completely missing, as is the "T" making it "N GOD WE RUST". What do you think?

Looks like a minor Grease Filled Die.
Not enough to add any premium but keep it as
an example until a better one comes along.

I was thinking grease strike, also but am pretty new to numismatics and wanted a second opinion. Thanks for the extra set of eyes.

Possibly grease and vending machine damage to the coin. All the devices are affected. This missing device is pretty common to find. Spend it. Find a better coin to save.
