I do not collect Canadian coins with any regularity but recently acquired a nice collection of Canadian Large Cents and noticed something very odd about the 1914. It has 2 raised lines across the center of the coin, almost as if it were struck from a cancelled die. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone have any knowledge of what this is? The lines definitely appear to be part of the original strike.

Yes, a larger and sharper pic would help.

better photos for sure are required, but it is definitely not struck from a cancelled die, more than likely it is PMD, .

I will try and get a clearer picture, only camera I have is in my old IPhone . Could be PMD but hard to figure out how they would be raised lines if that is the case. Looks like the coin was struck with a severely scratched die.

I don't think that it's PMB because of the A in Canada. PMD would have taken out the letter, but it's all there in the field. The N's in Cent and One are too close to the letters, so you can't see it. A better photo will help, but it looks like all the "scratch" is in the field.
