This one was in an old, cloudy ICCS flip. I bought it at an "Airport Torex Show" more than 10 years ago, and I finally snipped it out and sent it to PCGS, given how scarce these strikes are. Quite pleased with the result, tied with one other for the finest. https://www.PCGS.com/cert/38157748"Discovery follows discovery, each both raising and answering questions, each ending a long search, and each providing the new instruments for a new search." -- J. Nice!
How come they call it a PR instead of an SP?
Was the ICCS grade SP-66?

Quote: How come they call it a PR instead of an SP? Probably two reasons: 1. They grade the strike, not the minting process. This coin is gorgeous in hand, with highly reflective, mirror fields and looks every bit as much as a proof strike. 2. There are only 12 others that have been certified, and this coin was always considered to be a "special strike". It is not part of any Specimen Registry Set. So, for the sake of consistency with the other 12, they called it a PR. https://www.PCGS.com/pop/detail/eli...67&ccid=4305That does not mean I agree with it... but the other 12 coins are probably scattered across Canada and the US in collections, and it is nice to compare this nice apple, with the other, lower-graded apples from the 1965 specimen set.
