1920, 1921 and 1922 are all very sparse years for me with just 3 posts each.

There is no halfcrown from me for 1922 sorry - so its straight to a penny - a Canadian one!

Paralyse, I love that porcelain notgeld, very inventive and great it has not been smashed in the intervening 98 years.

Don't you love hearing that "Some clown smashed my coins, how the heck do you smash a coin"

My entry in the French Chambre du Commerce coin series of the early 1920s

A brass Franc and a holey 5 centime piece. I doubt it would have bought you a croissant and a coffee back then?

Actually, I think it would have bought you just about that. When Ernest Hemingway lived in Paris 1922, a breakfast for two (which might well have been just coffee and a croissant) cost him 2.50 francs: http://ehto.thestar.com/marks/a-can...bly-in-paris

By the way, love your silver half crowns, Princetane!

Great Britain 1922 florin:
How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Sixth-Edition!-Ended-At-1380-Waiting-On-1379

There was a minor change to the halfcrown reverse in 1922. From 1911 to 1921, the crown touched the shield, and after a bit of wear the crown and shield merged. From 1923 to 1927 there was a groove between the crown and the shield, and even on a coin in VG condition, they are distinctly separate. Both reverse dies were used in 1922.
