Sweden 1873, 10 kronor.

In 1873 the currency was reformed in Sweden, replacing the currency unit riksdaler with the krona and replacing the silver standard with a gold standard. Gold coins were minted in denominations of 10 and 20 kronor (later also 5 kronor). They were primarily intended for the exchange of banknotes into gold, not for circulation. The denomination 1 krona was not minted until 1875, but the old riksdaler coins were still valid (at 1:1 rate with the krona). The Scandinavian Monetary Union was also initiated this year and in full effect 1875, making the (likewise reformed) currencies of Denmark and Norway tied to each other and the Swedish krona and all three countries' coins and banknotes valid throughout the union.
