France 1807, 20 francs, Napoleon, Paris (A).  Seemingly a strange combination of inscriptions: Napoleon Emperor of the French Republic? Napoleon proclaimed himself emperor of France 1804, thereby ending the 1st republic, but references to France as a republic continued to be used in official documents for several years and on coins until 1808. |

1807 was the last year that Matthew Boulton produced British copper coins at the Soho Mint in Birmingham, but they were made in such large quantities that no further regal issues were required until the 1820s: Farthing:  Halfpenny:  Penny:  |

@mikev, I used to have examples of both that 15K and the 30K Austrian coin of the same dates. Overlooked examples of the large coppers of that era! I have an embarrassing example of that 1807 halfpenny that's already show up a couple of times (yes, when tilted at the correct angle, there is a just perceptible 7 for the last digit). Enjoy!    |

tdiziema - That is exactly the same condition of 2 of my 3 1806/07 Halfpennies and one is even worse, hence why I am not showing them.
