Again, just truly magnificient and its the earlier "Turkey Buzzard" obverse. I am sure it was 1796 or 1797 they switched to the Heraldic Eagle design.

Pepactonius, your coin collection is just beyond amazing!

Yes, wow, that 1796 dollar - completely amazing!

France an 4 (1795-96), 5 centimes, Paris (A). Small module.

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Sixth-Edition!-Ended-At-1380-Waiting-On-1379

Year 4 in the revolutionary calendar lasts 22 Sep 1795-21 Sep 1796. The 5 centimes piece is the very first coin to be minted in the new franc system launched 1795. It is also the first time that Marianne, the symbol of the French republic, appears on a coin. The first 5 centimes weighed 5 grams, which was soon considered too small for the denomination and after only one year the coin was replaced by a 10 gram version.

And an Irish token to go with:

D&H Munster 3 (Dublin, Belfast..etc)

The token does not have corrosion -- the reverse dies were severely rusted and pitted with many chips.

My favorite 1795!

Spain (Colonial) - 1795-Limae IJ 2 Reales (Peru)

Ornately engraved "A H" and "P" on the obverse
Probably early to mid 19th c. but I am not sure

A love token, or keepsake of some sort? Can only imagine...
