1547 Poland 1 groschen. The last time we saw Sigismund II, twenty years ago in 1566, his long forked beard went down to his chest.

1546 Poland 1 grosz / groschen Krakow mint, followed by a Lithuanian halfgroat (auction photo, coin in transit).
1545-48 is an interesting date range for Poland collectors.

After 4 years with no coin production (1541-44), coins are minted in the name of both Sigismund I (the Krakow groschen, "SIGISMVND PRIM REX") and Sigismund II August (Lithuania halfgroat, "SIGIS AVG REX"). Sigismund I died in 1548, after which his son reigned solo until his death in 1572.
