Before we say hello to King George the Fifth (Beardy)   Several colonies issued coins in the name of King Edward VIII and these included this New Guinea Penny (Cypher only). Other locations included the East African coin someone has shown already, some Indian states, West Africa and Fijian pennies. I like this coin a lot - very historic and nice condition. |

New Zealand issued 3 denominations in 1936 and Florins were scarce. After a big 1933 and 34 and more limited 1935, 1936 was a slight year.   1936 3d and 6d - Both had fairly generous numbers as 1936 was still really late depression and demand for low value coins was high. In 1936 a 3d could get you a bun and a cup of tea, for Sixpence you got toast and coffee sit down at a tearooms or entrance to the stalls in a movie theatre. I don't have a Florin as again, my collection missed most of the scarce dates. Both coins are in "Average Circulated" condition  The 3d is aFine and 6d is VG. Edited by Princetane
