Common enough, definitely authentic.
My LCS (Sydney) owner visited the Long Beach Coin Show about 20 years ago, and brought back about 200 examples of major off center error coins like this one, and sold them off for $50 each, in his coin inventory magazine. All came from the U.S. Mint.
He had three denominations: Penny, nickel and dime; anything from 20% to 80% off center. Some of them a lot more scyphate** than others.
Probably worth two to three times as much these days.
