Hi, sorry the title isn't super specific. I know nothing about coins, but I was going through my grandpa's old collection and found this [the coin on the left]. I first thought it was a Liberty nickel (hence why one is there as a comparison) but it looks like it's slightly bigger, flatter, and has a different back to it. Does anyone know what this is? I couldn't find it anywhere online. Sorry I can't be more specific with details

It's a Barber quarter made from 1892 to 1916. Most of the coins of that time all look like this. They were also called Liberty head. The quarter, dime, nickel and 50 cent all had the same general look.

In the condition the quarter is in, it's worth melt (about $3 in silver).

Welcome to CCF! The Liberty head nickel is also known as V-nickels.

It is probably worth noting too that they may look so similar is because it was the same designer, Charles Barber.
