At first I thought this was just damage and glue spots. Will not come off with acetone so maybe Struck Through Grease. Damage shows no signs of rough edges or scaring. Any thoughts ?

On these, I like to see the entire obverse so that these details can be looked at in the context of the rest of the coin.

Could be some strike through types of situations as well as some scratches.

Let's see the whole obverse in one shot:-)

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, sorry to take so long on this. 15 or 20 photos later and I'm still not sure this is good enough to help.

Looks like coin rub to me. IE: damage. It just looks more dramatic when view very close.

I think Coop is right with the LIBERTY section. That's a rub with damage.

I think what is going on with Lincoln's head is something else, I just can't tell what yet.

Thanks,
Bill
