Is this a strike thru and would this be worth getting stabbed? Thanks for any info or suggestions. I'm not sure how common these are or if it's even worth it

Thanks john1. The metal is between the w and e. I thought when you have a strike thru it's more valuable to retain the struck thru piece than to not have it. Or is condition the ultimate factor

I'd find it hard to spend close to $50 to slab a PSD Wheat cent. (aprox value less than 5 cents) When a MS-65 red would only bring back $20?

Thanks coinfrog. Do you guys think it a strike thru but not worth much because of grade or size of struck thru piece?

Thanks coop. What about the strike thru. Wouldn't that be worth something? I know in general if the coin is not worth about 150 it's not worth the hassle. I'm not sure how much this is worth or if it's even a strike thru with the metal

Probably just solder on the coin. Note it doesn't see to be below the surface on the coin? Just stuck to the coin while the solder was hot. (that is what I'm seeing)

@rw, I'm not convinced that you have a struck through coin here. If it was, I would expect that the part below the letter W would be attached to the part between the W and the E. More likely, this is something on the surface of the coin.

If you were able to get a steep side shot, you would probably see that is was not struck into the coin, but is actually on the surface until the heat cooled off and stuck onto the coin. (On the surface, not pressed into the surface)
