Zinc Plating Bubbles The Sole Cause Of The Date And Mint Mark Distortion?

Matilda Sal New Member United States 26 Posts	Posted 01/12/2020 8:07 pm Recently, I learned about the zinc coins and plating problems etc. I apologize, this coin is unattractive! My question is.... The date and mint mark distortions-is this all basically the result of zinc plating problems? I see the plating has slidden off in areas; so forth....I see maybe plating rot causing hollowness beneath mint mark, resulting in this distortion? The last image is of the reverse side-only cuz I'm wondering if something is poking through...? I know.nOOb! Report this Post to the Staff

There might be some Machine Doubling somewhere in there, but you'd have to look harder than necessary because this damage alone is enough to make this a spender.
