I'm thinking I need overall pictures of the coin to guage the amount of circulation it's seen and other factors before determining could be die abrasions, feeder fingers damage, some role lines, roadrash or circulation damage really.

Wish it was less beat up, but I feel good about calling it die scrapes. (basically Feeder Finger Damage to the die, but could be any object scraped across the anvil die really.)

It's on the reverse which is the anvil die side of the coin, which it should be, it doesn't seem to interrupt the letters I was concerned with the "V" but that looks like it's a separate unrelated hit to the scrapes behind the other letters in "FIVE". the line through "IVE" looks raised in the picture, and I'd assume the other are also raised as well, which is what you'd also want to see for a die that got scraped or gouged by a feeder finger or another object. if they were incused I would rule out a die scrape.

Feeder Finger Damage, Die abrasion damage, Die scrape damage, it's all the same but I don't think this is abrasion damage or polishing, its' too directional and localized,

I think you are spot on with a feeder finger getting dragged across the anvil die and scraping it, and the abrasions left behind haven't gotten struck out of it yet.

that's a heck of a ding on the door. LOL
