I found this 1977 Penny in my change,I am looking for any information about what could possibly have happened to it.
Other than being in rough shape, the head side seems normal, however the back side has some major issues.
The Lincoln memorial appears too large for the coin, even covering the portions of the letters in "United States of America"there is very little outside rim on most of the back of the coin(it is actually flat) except in the very top.The "One Cent" is completely missing due to the size of the Memorial.Any information would be appreciated.Thank you&

Damaged coin. This coin was taken a strong beating in a garage. PSD

1. first lesson: Note the reverse rim area? If it is not looking similar to the obverse side, the coin was altered on that side. (flattened and damaged)
