Is there any way to distinguish between the US set and the Canada set w/o the box and COA? In other words, can the US set be passed off as the higher priced Canada set if you have the box and COA?

I didn't think there was a difference in the coins but the packaging I believe is different. For example the Canadian COA is I believe numbered and issue by RCM.

Without the Box and Numbered Canadian COA you can't tell these sets apart. Only 10,000 Canadian sets were produced and they sold out.

If it's a raw set yes someone could just move coins into the Canadian packaging. The slabed ones all say which set it is on the label

Yup....the only difference is the packaging thus the need to submit in unopened Mint shipping box to get them attributed.

Everything costs more in canada. They tax everything heavily from my experience in the past few months, even shipping charges.
Example. I sent parts from Texas to Ontario ca. It cost me $10 to ship it and took 4 days to get there. Value was $50 for the shipment.
My project manager needed parts next day so I had to but and ship from Ontario to ontario. Same shipment. Parts cost me $70 and shipping cost me $50. Even if different seller markups it was all the taxes making the difference.

I think the price difference on the resale market has a lot to do with that since it was sold in canada and not so much the numbered certificate or the reversed packaging and seller's expecting a Canadian buyer and coering costs or passing them along.

GST, HST, sales tax, tax tax tax, that becomes an added cost to the next guy in line that buys it .

It's the same 2 coins. I don't see the point to paying extra for variant packaging or a numbered certificate. It's the coins I want.
