Hey guys, new to the forum and want to see how you feel about these pieces. Do these look legitimate or do they appear off. Thanks in advance!

My guess is that you are paying around $400 to $450 each if you are paying under $350 each you should be concerned the coins are counterfeit. The reversed on the coins show wear on the tip of the eagle wing, so the coins appear circulated. Why is the seller taking photos of the coins on a hard wood surface as gold is so easy to scratch? No judgement on genuine or fake as the obverse photos simply are not good enough to tell.

to the CCF.

Not possible to judge authenticity based upon those photos - general appearance is good but so are many counterfeit

When the two examples show up give us individual photos and specs (weight, diameter, thickness) and our experts will absolutely nail the decision.

Thanks again guys. The buyer owns a jewelry/precious metals shop and has good references. In bought in a Facebook gold group. For what it's worth, he tested them with an XRF. As soon as I get them I'll measure them all up, take good photos and post them on here. 400 per coin is what I paid.

Guys here's the two coins I got, 1909 "D" mintmarks. Both weigh 8.35 grams. One measures .845" in diameter and one measures .843" (21.463 mm and 21.4122 mm) both thicknesses measure .057" (1.448mm). I'm trying to ascertain if these are authentic, I just received them and got a little spooked when I read how well some of these were faked even with real gold. Couple things that make me nervous are the mint marks (both D) and lack of detail in some places. Let me know what you think.
