The EB on the left wing of the eagle ( as viewed ) is meant to be a stamp of Ephraim Brasher's hallmark. On this item it looks like it was moulded in as part of the initial manufacture and not stamped in afterwards. I suggest you have a souvenir copy or something similar. Look for a seam around the edge. If present, it proves this is a cast copy. Also look for small letters C or R or COPY. ( R indicates REPLICA ). Also, I thought the doubloons were gold. I'm not sure what that is. Maybe an American expert from this forum can give you a definitive answer. I am just a UK amateur, so can only really give suggestions. Report this Post to the Staff
