This is a .26 gram cent. Got it in a roll. Beautiful red, possible a proof if they were made.
Please check these photos. Machine Doubling anywhere?

Sorry, I'm not seeing doubling. If it's only towards the coin edges, it's either Mechanical Doubling (MD) or Die Deterioration Doubling ( DDD), neither of which are the highly-desirable form of doubling.

On the '2' on the date, that is Machine Doubling. I it probably a zinc cent if the weight is under 3.11 grams. (You mentioned the weight that would be impossible for even an aluminum cent (.93 grams). 2.5 Grams is normal for the zinc cents.
