Hi everyone, I am really not quite sure what to make this this silver ancient coin. It appears to me to be a battered and holed Alexander III-like drachm. It is 16mm and it looks and sounds as though silver. However, I do not have the coin in hand at present to give the weight. Based upon the images, can you identify this piece? Thanks!

It IS a variety of Alexander drachm, in particular, a jeweler's copy.
Probably good silver, but the green tinge (suggestive of copper in the alloy), bothers me.
Surface texture suggests cast; the sprue was probably at the loop attachment.

Does the surface feel greasy to touch?

Hole doesn't help.

sel_69l & Bob L - Thanks for the help! I thought that this piece was rather suspect. However, the rather crude details in Hercules's head (namely the mouth and lion's mane) also struck me as a bit similar to some Celtic examples I had seen. Good to know that it is just a silver copy.
