I received a dealer notice today. The "special" coins for the ANDA show will be a TV $1 Proof with an 'A' for Australia mint mark and a mint set with a special ANDA folder. Both will have mintagaes of 1500.

Bigfella, will you have to be at the show to get these? If so why did they tell the dealers? Unless they expect you to make the trip down to the show and get on line with everyone else. At 1500 mintage they will sell out fast.

You have to be at the show. I supposed they notified dealers as a courtesy. I can not attend and even if I could I bet they will limit numbers which would mean a waisted trip for most dealers.

Oh No....I can just see in my little minds eye a very fast sell out and exhorbitant prices for these coins on ebay....  |

I personally believe they will be at all shows, which may slow down the hype but not by much.

The "A" for Australia MM is also noted, I thought "A" was reserved for Adelaide issues..  |

Lim...imaging the 50 years of television with the TV (for Tuvulu) mint mark later this year.

i think to avoid confusion they should of used a AU mint mark for australia instead of the A |

Gee whiz, they haven't even gone thru the whole alphabet before they are starting to repeat letters for mint marks.
A,B,C,E,G,H,M,P,S, in decimals alone and now to repeat "A" with a different meaning. This will complicate the Guides that have to explain mint marks.
This news gives me the impression that the portable press will not be visiting Adelaide anytime soon. I'm suspect the people of Adelaide would be a bit disappointed.
The "A" mint mark is redundant anyway as the whole word "Australia" is on the coin.

From what I've heard its 1500 at each ANDA show RAM attends for a total of 6000.
