Let me start with, I believe this coin has been cleaned somewhere in its past, even though it's slightly toned.

But because of the Peg Leg R, I want to pursue identifying it fully and need your help please.

I'm thrown by the wide lettering on the reverse, and the close up of the obverse In God We Trust, some of the letters look off, and the Obverse lettering font of Liberty doesn't match the lettering font on the reverse?

I'm only just starting to look at my Ike's that I've had stashed for decades, so I'm not up to speed yet on the varieties or errors when it comes to them.

I was trying to use the following site for help.

Is there anything good here?

Thanks again for your time and comments.

Not a peg leg. The width is reduced on the peg leg coins:

To me they are just a die event. The die was over polished to remove a clash. But to each his own.

Ok, no peg leg, I was going by the picture of the peg leg of the 76-S, and the description that there was a peg leg for the 76-D T1, from the previously listed website I was looking at.

But when it comes to errors Coop, I know your one of the best on the Fourm!

Thank you Coop!

Coop: CONECA recognizes the peg leg as an Obverse design variation, not a polishing error. Is CONECA incorrect?

Either way, that link above says that the peg leg design is common on 1976-D Ikes. So it wouldn't add anything to the value or collectibility regardless of the cause.

the Bicentennials don't have a serif

Doubling needs to be prominent on Ike's as well I believe.

Ok, I understand the issues with the Peg Leg R, but can I get some input on the other issues I mentioned in the first post?
Does anyone see anything abnormal in my picture of In God we Trust?
Any comments on the large flat font of the reverse vs the skinny more defined font on the obverse?
Or is it as usual, I'm seeing things
Thanks for your time!

What you have is a type 1 Denver business strike, the type 1's (both Denver and Philly) have bold lettering on the reverse, the Type 2's have thin lettering. It's not a error, though there may be some minor doubling on the obverse.
