Can someone with experience help me out with this 82 small date error the center weighs 3.1g and if the error can be overlooked it would be a great find. Ive had a hard time placing any of the characteristics with one of a LG date

To the CCF Not sure what you see as an error but that is a common copper1982D Large Date Lincoln. In the future, please post a photo of the complete coin right side up.

Your 8 is too big and the 2 isn't the right 2. I've look at a lot of these. The difference is so slight. If you can find a small date 82 that is zinc, that will help you to compare.

OK I see your second pic. I can't tell from that picture. IMO, the difference on these things is very slight.
PSA: Thank you for adding the edit feature to this forum. YAY!

The date is kind of banged up. Hard to say it is a 1982 D small date.

Quote: The date is kind of banged up. Hard to say it is a 1982 D small date. Still easy to tell. Just look at the space between the 2 and the rim on this Large Date. A Small Date 2 is further from the rim.
