Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and fairly new to numismatics....
I've come across some pretty cool coins in pocket change but this one I feel may be extra special...
It is a 2003 p Jefferson nickel....
The errors are too numerous to name.... and I think there's probably one of each type on this one coin....obverse, reverse, a few spots around the edges.....just about everywhere you lol on this nickel there's An issue....
I thought it was just a beat up old nickel but I decided to take a look and most if not all the damage is actually from the mint much to my surprise!
Here are a couple of filtered pics until I can get some good clear ones au natural....
Any advice, things I didn't see that stand out, etc are more than appreciated.

Glad to be part of the group..
Respectfully
Rust

Any expert disagrees I will gladly concede but to me it looks like PMD damaged after minting. Appears to be road rash that got infected not very likely to have been damaged in such a way while in the collar.

@rj67, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @mk that your coin is showing normal circulation wear plus some extra damage such as that rim bruise and extra metal (solder?) or corrosion products on the reverse.

To CCF , so you say your fairly new to Numismatics ? First thing you need to do is pick up some books on mint errors , read them , study them and you will see what's with that Nickel . Good luck on your new hobby .

Only trying to gain knowledge here and thank you guys fur response.....however my question is how would PMD cause letters and/or numbers to be on the rim and rolled over to the face? And what about the letters present under the word MONRICELLO? And the r in Monticello? And the second t in trust being way out of line? I'll try to get Somme better pics and maybe y'all can point me in the right direction....thanks again

The recommendation of books is a good one, especially one covering the minting process. Once you know how coins are made it is easier to see what can and what can not happen to a coin while it is being manufactured. an added plus is you will then have more knowledge than most of the people posting you tube videos on coin errors.

Looks like the extra details you're seeing are vice-job/significant damage. I could be wrong...but that's a moot point as, regardless how many errors a coin has, once someone's beaten it with a hammer, vice-gripped, or run it across a gravel driveway it's not really going to be worth anything.
